Father, thank You for this day. Thank You that You are consistent and faithful. Thank You that You know everything and are everywhere, and that there is nothing I have heard or will hear today, or see, You are not aware of and concerned about.
Father, when I am burdened by what I know and see, when it causes me distress, when the actions of others wear me down and I am emptied by my life’s work, fill me. Lift me. Support me. Give me rest. I need Your knowledge and wisdom. Your words. Your grace to carry on.
When I am spent and have nothing more to give, pour Yourself into me — and out through me — for the sake of Your kingdom, Father; Your kingdom, not my own. I am in great need of You; therefore Lord Jesus, pray for me. Holy Spirit, take my groanings and turn them into a prayer I cannot seem to utter.
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You that You are never taxed; You never run out of strength or power, or know-how. Please impart to me what I need to carry on this day with the people whom You have given me. I bless them in the name of Your Son, Father, according to Your wishes for their lives.
Father, for those who have harmed me and those I love, I forgive them as an act of my will. I ask You to right my emotions and those of my loved ones toward the offenders. Cause us to overcome, to triumph, not that we may glory in ourselves but that we will see, as will others, that this is indeed Your kingdom. And what I accomplish today that is worthwhile, I know it is because You have worked in and through me.
With that in mind, let me be a vessel of honor walking where You would walk today, addressing that which is appropriate, and avoiding those whom I should. Let me not waste my time and resources with those who have no interest in You or Your kingdom, and give me a deep knowing somewhere within me — so that I may be wise and responsible with all You have put within my care.
I have no God but You, nor do I have another source or ability other than what You provide. Therefore, be my fuel today, Lord; let me kindle the fire gently, patiently and willingly. And if ever I run out of patience or come near the end of myself, hide me away to be refreshed.
Father, I commit myself and all I am to You. Do with me as it pleases You for the sake of Your kingdom. I ask these things in accordance with Your will and Your timing, and in the name of Your Son, Father. Amen.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! Psalm 107:1 NIV
I have been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming conviction that I had no where else to go. My own wisdom and that of all those about me seemed insufficient for that day. Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)
We have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. I Corinthians 2:12-13 NLT
In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 NASB
… The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Isaiah 40:28-29 NLT
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Romans 12:14 ESV
Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come… Revelation 12:10 ESV
Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done. You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message. II Timothy 4:14-15 NIV
O LORD, there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. I Chronicles 17:20 NASB
… know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19 ESV
Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10 NASB
