Prayer for Reconciliation

Father in heaven, blessed be Your name. Thank You that despite what I’m experiencing You are God, and You are good.

I give You the breach which occurred between me and ____________ , along with the words which have been spoken, the innuendoes made and actions taken. I give to You the emotional pain I have because of them. I give You my understanding of the issue and ask that You cleanse me and the situation. Thank You for being the God of reconciliation.

Please grant wisdom to ____________ and me. Give each of us knowledge and understanding beyond what we currently possess. Soften our hearts in appropriate ways, and cause each of us to be respectful of one another’s boundaries, or establish them if proper boundaries don’t exist.

Forgive me for my response to this issue where it has been inappropriate, and cause me to become right-minded about it. Along with my response, I give you my hopes and expectations about the issue and / or this person. In mercy, grant that I would place my eyes on You alone, and whether this works out as I desire or whether it does not, grant that I may worship You at the end of the day.

Father, I forgive ____________ . That doesn’t mean I agree with what has taken place or been said, but I forgive him / her / them. I do not want this burden weighing me down. You deal with ____________ . I put him / her into Your hands. You care about what is right far more than I. Also, I give you my rights, opinion, pride, needs and desire — I surrender them so that You may “right” each one, and restore them to me with a renewed perspective. Give me Your opinion of this matter; and if necessary boldness and courage, or tenderness and mercy, as is appropriate.

Lord, I bless ____________ because You said to do so. You said You send Your rain on the just and the unjust, and to bless and pray for those who spitefully use us and curse us. So Lord, I ask you to bring ____________ into right standing with You regardless of the outcome of the breach between us. I bless his / her family with health and a deeper knowledge of You. I bless his / her future that he / she may walk with You. If he /she doesn’t know You, bring him /her and those he / she loves into Your kingdom.

Also, I ask that Your will be done in this breach and I give You the outcome ahead of time. I submit myself to You because I choose to. Change me. Right me. Use me. Cause me to be a more functional tool in Your hand, for the sake of Your kingdom and the glory of Your Son.

Release from me all that is not of You which may bind me to this matter. Bring Your kingdom to pass in more profound ways in my life and the lives of those I love. I want to walk in Your ways, Father, and to honor You, so I ask these things in accordance with Your will, Your timing and in Your ways, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
